Hi Brad,
I, for one, may have missed this information in the past. I don't typically
go to the
mailing list site but rather rely on the posts that come to me by e-mail. I
don't know
if everyone else is experiencing the same thing but this last one you sent
is
punctuated by = or =2C which makes for a difficult read sometimes. Either
that or
I'm having algebra flashbacks and the information is truly not "getting
through" ;)
I think we had once surmised that AJC was a possible son of WMC's son,
Richard.
And if I'm not mistaken, he isn't listed as an heir of Jonathan's in the
Deeds from
1844 and 1848, nor as an heir of WMC. Any guesses on when AJC died? At
this point it appears he died sometime after Jonathan but before the
execution
of his estate. He's a bit like the Rice Cooley of his generation; he's
"there" and
then he's gone.
I'm sorry for your frustration. I've been trying not to chime in if I feel
I don't have
anything useful to add, but I always read (and look forward to reading)
everyone's
posts. If it were not for this forum and this group of people I would still
have a
vague notion that my Cooley ancestor emigrated from Ireland in the mid
1800s.
Even after I found "my" Cooleys, it took several years to discover exactly
where
I fit into the family tree (Thanks, Gloria!) So please know that your input
is both
welcomed and significant. We're all helping each other knock down the Wall,
one brick at a time.
Cheers,
Jim

I have tried to address this to the forum before. I feel like my input=
is not "getting through" and it is frustrating. A.J.C. Cooley is the son =
of Jonathan Cooley (son of William Matthews Cooley) and Amie (White?). A.J=
.C. was the brother to my GGG-grandmother Anna Elizabeth Cooley b. 20 Dec 1=
830 in Columbus=2C Hickman County=2C KY and d. 21 Feb=2C 1862 Mississippi C=
ounty=2C MO. She m. Isaiah Alexander Faris 22 Dec=2C 1846 in Mississippi Co=
unty=2C MO. Isaiah Faris' mother was Betsy Crockett Faris of Northern Sect=
ion of S.C.. This family removed to Obion County=2C TN in 1829 (Davy Crocke=
tt's Congressional District) after Davy visited this Northern section of S.=
C. (formerly N.C.). The Faris family lived in Obion County=2C TN from 1829=
- 1838 when they removed to Scott County=2C MO. In 1845=2C Wolf Island=2C M=
ississippi County=2C MO was formed from Scott County=2C MO. I calculate th=
e birth of Anna Elizabeth as possibly being in Hickman County=2C KY 20 De=
c=2C 1830. Her uncles Seth and George W. Cooley appear just N. of Faris fam=
ily (Obion County=2C TN) in Weakley County=2C TN in 1830. Her sister Elizab=
eth Cooley m. Joseph Webster resides in Scott County=2C MO in 1840. Her si=
ster Ann m. Isaac Pile (Pyle) resides in Scott County=2C MO also in 1840. =
This is the same family. Jonathan Cooley=2C father/husband apparently dies=
before this family removes to MO. I believe he died in Marshall County? K=
Y before 1939.
