I'm curious if Emma was born in 1811, was her marriage a 2nd marriage?  Not that it's impossible, but 38 years old would be quite old for a first marriage back then.  Gloria ________________________________ From: Bonnie & Craig Lillywhite <clillywhite_at_gmail.com> To: John Cooley Mailing List <undisclosed.recipients_at_johncooley.net> Sent: Monday, June 23, 2014 1:27 PM Subject: Re: Perrin C Cooley I have Perrin C as md 1) Polly Wood. This is only from hearsay, no proof, Wife number 2) Emeline Sutton on 9 Apr 1849 in Macon County, MO.(However she is not w/him in 1850. Did she die right away?)  Wife 3) Margaret Ann Reed, the 1910 census of Maudlow, Gallatin, Montana, says they were md 47 years, (or 1863), however there is a marriage recorded on 27 Mar 1891 in Adair County, MO. That marriage lists Margaret as Reed and Cooley. Because of that it seems that for some reason they needed to be married again. I think I have mentioned before that I believe I am also related to Margaret as my Reed line is found in Adair and Macon Counties. As far as Emma Cooley, dau of Perrin (b 25 Dec 1811 in MO, although MO was not a state at that time), she is listed as Emely on her marriage to William Perry Murley on 15 Nov 1849 Macon County, and as Emily on census records. The only place she is listed as Emma is on the Find A Grave site. I have traced the children of that marriage and found several in CA death indexes. They do list their mother as a Cooley.
