In the process of searching for William Blackburn – somehow, I ended working
on John Cooley, III & Lavina (Willis) Cooley. These are the census that I
have questions about:

08 Oct 1850, pg 178 B & 179
Sangamon Co., IL
  family 740:
Calvin Cloyd, 27, m/w, farmer, KY
Sophia Cloyd, 25, f/w, IL
Dicy Cloyd, 3, f/w, IL
Charles Cloyd, 1, m/w, IL
James Davis, 21, m/w, Farmer, OH
Joseph Cooley, 8, m/w, IL
Louisa Cooley, 6, f/w, IL

15 Aug 1860, pg 388
District 16, Sangamon Co., IL
  family 2779:
H Cooley, 23, m/w, farmer, $1600/600, KY
Maria Cooley, 24, f/w, IL
Isabel Cooley, 6, f/w, IL
Mary Cooley, 4, f/w, IL
Ellen Cooley, 3, f/w, IL
Anna Cooley, 1, f/w, IL
William Batterton, 31, m/w, F. laborer, $320/--, IN
David Clark, 17, m/w, IN
Phillip Clark, 15, m/w, PA
  family 2780:
L. Cooley, 58, (listed as male - but this is Lavina), KY
Nancy Cooley, 26, f/w, IL, "Idiotic from birth"
Joseph Cooley, 17, m/w, IL
L J Cooley, 16, f/w, IL

12 July 1870, pg 478
Sarcoxie, Jefferson Co., KS
  family 51:
Walker, Beverly, 45, m/w, Farmer, TN
Walker, Elizabeth, 40, f/w, keeping house, KY
Walker, Rebecca, 11, f/w, IL
Walker, Joseph, 7, m/w, IL
Walker, Martha L., 6, f/w, IL
Walker, Amanda, 2, f/w, IL
Cooley, Lavina, 66, f/w, KY
Cooley, Nancy, 36, f/w, IL

Any idea why Joseph & Louisa (J) Cooley are enumerated with Calvin & Sophia
Cloyd in 1850, then with Lavina (Willis) Cooley in 1860? OR were they
enumerated there because of James Davis?

It looks like John Calvin Cloyd was married twice - in 1841 to America
Clement and in 1848 to Sophia Lanterman. Do either of his wives relate to
the Cooley's?

I saw on Michael's website that Willis & brother Joseph Cooley died of
disease in hospital - so I assume that both Joseph & Louisa J Cooley were
children of John & Lavina (Willis) Cooley.
