Washington County Ohio Cooleys

FYI...

Johnny Appleseed's mother was a Cooley of the Ensign Benjamin crowd. They
lived in Washington county, Ohio. We know, of course, that William Henry
Cooley, who married there in 1818, didn't have matching DNA.

A descendant of our John Cooley, William Washington Cooley (Issac, James,
John), lived his last several decades in Washington county. And I'm
reminded that Reuben Ransom Cooley, who lived near my John (Edward, John)
in Bartholomew county IN, was born in Ohio in 1805. The family is said to
have come from NC and resided in Washington county (Marietta) before
moving to Indiana.

All that is known about the family Reuben was born into is that he had a
brother James and that their father was said to have been born in
Birmingham, England.

Reuben remains on my DNA wish list.

Like I said, just an FYI.
