I had hopes that the Jesse Mitchell who married Mary "Polly" Cooley (d/o
Joseph Cooley & first wife) was related to your James Mitchell. Jesse &
Polly married 1812 in Warren Co., KY and in 1826 were in TN (according to
Joseph Cooley's 1826 list of heirs). I think I found them in TN but don't
have any proof yet.
