Yes, I did mean James Wesley Cooley - sorry! I had been reading Jim's
e-mail concerning two John Cooleys and his search for the right one.

The three sons living with George Harvey Cooley were not his sons. They
were the three living sons of his brother Irvin E. Cooley & Katherine
"Kitty" ULN. The sons were:
1. Harry Cooley b. abt 1904 KY
2. James Cooley b. abt 1906 KY
3. Patrick Cooley b. abt 1908 KY

Kitty must have really had her hands full as her husband died in 1909 and
her oldest son, Mike Cooley died 05 Jan 1910 at the age of 10. Until I
found her listed as Katherine listed next door to James Wesley Cooley, I
hadn't been able to find Kitty. This is her on the 1910 census:

1910 United States Federal Census
Name: Katherine Coaley
[Katherine Cooley]
Age in 1910: 28
Birth Year: abt 1882
Birthplace: Kentucky

Mother?: How many living?: 3
Father's Birthplace: Kentucky
Mother's Birthplace: Kentucky
Household Members: Name Age
Katherine Coaley 28
Harry Coaley 6
James Coaley 4
Patrick Coaley 2
[James Wesley Cooley (bro. to Katherine's hu) next door]

This is John Wesley in 1920:

1920 United States Federal Census
Name: J Wes Colley
[James Wesley Cooley]
Age: 43
Birth Year: abt 1877
Birthplace: Tennessee
Home in 1920: Hartsfield, Colquitt, Georgia
Race: White
Gender: Male
Relation to Head of House: Head
Marital Status: Married
Spouse's Name: Louise Colley
Father's Birthplace: ("English" written)
Mother's Birthplace: Tennessee
Household Members: Name Age
J Wes Colley 43
Louise Colley 36
Edward Colley 21
Agnes Colley 18
Alma Colley 15
Lizzie Colley 13
John D Colley 10 (listed as Walter on the 1910 census)
Hazel Colley 8
Leo Colley 6
Daisy Belle Colley 4
Odell Colley 2
[Mother-in-law, Elizabeth Harrison & 3 sons next door]
Don't pay any attention to the birthplaces of this family. They only got it
right on the 1900 census - maybe.

Thanks, Mary. I've updated my page with the three sons of George Harvey
Cooley.

I have that he had brothers John Cooley who married Ella Stevens and James
Wesley Cooley who married Louise Harrison. Did you mean *James* Wesley
Cooley or do I have something wrong? For James I have sons Edward Cooley
(1899-) and John D Cooley (1908-1974) who married Rachel Ray Austin.
