We know from the 1850 probate records of James Cooley (s/o Perrin Cooley
Sr) that his brother John (m Martha Bearden) had a son named Edward who
was living in Illinois. We find an Edward Cooley living with Perrin C
Cooley in Calhoun Co IL in 1850.

I've not been able to find Edward on any later census records. But I've
just stumbled on this at familysearch.org. Pike County is immediately
north of Calhoun county:

There's no evidence that Edward of Calhoun was the Edward later of Pike,
but it's worth looking into. Does anyone have access to the 1855 Pike
county census?
