Interesting! Perhaps Perrin & Harriet were married.

Searching for Cooley in Illinois in 1850-1870 is extremely difficult as Pike
Co., IL census are very poor copies and the misspellings are atrocious!!

The 1850 mortality schedule of Calhoun County shows the death in August of
three-month old John Cooley for unknown causes. No parents are listed.

If I'm not mistaken the Perrin/Harriet/Edward household was the only
Cooley household there at the time.

Looking closer at Pike County...
