Well, it's mostly me that has maintained an emphasis on the male line.
Anyone can go in any direction they wish. I know that some of you would
like to compile a complete descendancy for John, and that's great.
I'm beginning to see genealogy as nodes. It's easier to track the nodes by
keeping the research largely one dimensional. I develop the data inside
one node, say the Cooley/Bearden "node," while waiting to find its place
within the larger network. It's rather a narrow focus but I think it has
benefited the research.
But keep it up guys. The purpose of the list is to develop the ancestry and
descendants of John Cooley as fully as possible.
