This is indeed interesting. The Cooley Y-DNA spreadsheet says Daniel
Cooley's terminal SNP is M-269, which is in haplogroup R1b, not our R1a. So
they are extremely far removed from our Cooleys (well over 10,000 years).
So how did Daniel Cooley get labeled as a son of our John?
On another topic, FTDNA finally offer a test of YP355 - so I ordered it. It
is extremely likely I will test positive for it as you did Michael, but
it's always good for at least two Cooleys to test for every important Y-DNA
SNP.

P.S. What do you make of the 67 STR Marker Cochran match to us? I guess
like the Whitfields, the Cochrans once had a common ancestor with us. Maybe
over 1000 years ago before surnames. The surname Cochran is most common in
Scotland.
